what is pilates?
Pilates is a physical training programme based on the body's natural movements. The very structure of the Pilates method requires mental focus, a process that forces your muscles to respond more quickly to training. By integrating body and mind you will achieve an effective, balanced and efficient workout. The deliberate and focused movements also promote an enhanced sense of body awareness that continues after the sessions, giving an enhanced sense of well-being
and self-care.
Reformer Pilates
The Reformer helps to establish core stability and align the posture by engaging arms, shoulders, hips and legs with resistance.
With its adjustable springs Mimi is able to set them at your individual fitness level to assist in lengthening and strengthening the muscles and will work with you on identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
Reformer sessions are available as 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1
Mat Pilates
Mat Pilates encourages you to become more in tune with your body and its movements by controlling your breathing and posture awareness. As you become more confident Mimi will be able to incorporate more challenging movements to help strengthen and tone.
Mat sessions are available as 1:1 or in classes of up to 7 please note that due to limited space in classes bookings are essential.
What do I wear/bring?
Pilates is usually preformed barefoot however you are more that welcome to wear socks (socks with rubber soles work best) Non restrictive clothing is advised, a towel, a water bottle and most importantly a good sense of fun!
